General Secretary ČEA
Jiří has been the ČEA’s general secretary since 2003. Born in 1974 in Liberec, he became a Christian in 1993 while a student in high school. Shortly after he joined the Unity of Brethren. While studying at Charles University in Prague, he was part of the Student Christian Mission, working among students and helping organize various Christian events. After graduating from the Faculty of Arts department of religion, he became a doctoral student at the Protestant Faculty of Charles University, where he studied the relationship between globalization and religion. In addition to his pedagogical work at the Protestant Faculty, he also worked as a translator. Jiří married in 1999 and has four children. He is a member of the Církev Bratrská church in Prague 13.
